Spend July 4th at British Summer Time Hyde Park

 

It’s hard to believe that we’re almost halfway through 2022. 

We are excited to announce we’ll be returning to the Open House at British Summer Time Hyde Park. This has been one of our best attended summer events in years past, and this year it’s happening on American Independence Day, July 4 🇺🇸 💥  This FREE event is full of live music, amazing food, and entertainment for the entire family. More information below. 

We hope to have a few more social events and happy hours this summer including a SIPA hosted drinks. And are looking forward to this autumn when we’ll have special programs and speakers. 

One significant challenge for programming activities is securing a place to host lectures, talks, and networking events. If you, your company, or contacts may be interested in supporting CUCL, we’d love to hear from you. Many of our ‘go to’ places are no longer available since the pandemic. Alumni Only Online Community:

One of the best things about being an alumni of Columbia University is the opportunity to network. At almost every in person event we see people swapping contact information to keep in touch. We also regularly receive emails asking us to help with missed connections. 

Shortly after the first lockdown started, we launched a dedicated Slack Team for CUCL Members. If you’re not familiar with Slack, it’s a chat service (via web, app, and mobile) where conversations are broken into channels (a.k.a., chat rooms). We’ve set up a number of channels based on popular topics and suggestions. These include everything from virtual book clubs, films, hobbies, cooking, CVC, etc.

We want to remind you that this is a great resource to virtually meet other alumni, or reconnect with members you’ve met at one of our past events. 

We are also opening our Slack Team to any CU alumni anywhere in the world. Use this link to join and introduce yourself. The more active participants, the more fun and engaging exchanges to be had.
