V&A Museum | Dundee Scotland

Please join us for an exclusive tour of the new V&A Museum in Dundee, led by our own Maurizio Mucciola (GSAPP ‘07). Maurizio is a director at PiM.studio Architects and was the project architect in charge of delivering the revolutionary building, which has already won a number of prizes for its innovative design and stunning form.

Maurizio will take us on a guided tour of the interiors and exteriors of the building, offering us a unique insight into the construction and design process. Afterward, you will also have a chance to explore the museum's permanent collection of Scottish Design as part of a private tour.

While we encourage you to make a weekend of it (the magical castle and stunning medieval town centre of Edinburgh are just over an hour’s train ride away), all the tours will be organized on the Saturday, so that those who wish to come up for the day only can do so.

We are also aiming to organize a dinner for alumni based in Scotland and those coming up for the tour on the Saturday evening — Join us in bringing the CUCL vibe up North!

To allow us to set dates, gauge numbers, and organize the tours, please register your interest to let us know if you would like to join.

Proposed Schedule:

12:30 Meet outside V&A Dundee museum

12.45 Private guided architectural tour of the museum exteriors

13.15 Lunch at the museum restaurant

14.15 Private guided architectural tour of the museum interiors

15.00 Private tour of the Scottish Design Galleries

15.45 END of tour, with option to stay on to explore Dundee and/or Edinburgh

Please note: to allow everyone to structure their weekend as they wish, CUCL will ONLY be organizing the tours and lunch. If there is sufficient interest, we can help those making the trip up from London to coordinate flights and/or trains.
