You are invited to an exclusive tour of the new V&A Dundee Museum in Scotland, led by our own Maurizio Mucciola (GSAPP ‘07). Maurizio is a director at PiM.studio Architects and was the project architect in charge of delivering the revolutionary building together with Kengo Kuma & Associates. The project has already won a number of prizes for its innovative design and stunning form, including a RIBA National Award 2019.
In the first half of our visit, Maurizio will take us on a guided tour of the interiors and exteriors of the building, offering us a unique insight into the construction and design process. In the second half of the afternoon, you will have a chance to explore the museum further. We have organized a docent-led private tour of the museum’s permanent collection of Scottish Design. The museum will also be hosting a temporary exhibition: “Hello, Robot”, highlighting the influence of robots on our lives, which you can visit at your option once the group tours conclude.
We have arranged for lunch at The Tatha Bar & Kitchen to give us a chance to discuss our impressions of the museum and meet each other.
There will also be a dinner on the Saturday evening for alumni based in Scotland and those coming up for the tour — join us in bringing the CUCL vibe up North!
Please RSVP HERE for dinner.
