CUCL has an exclusive invitation to a weekend of wine tasting at the Poderi di Capo d’Uomo Estate. The estate's vineyards and olive groves are by the sea lending it an indescribable charm. This event is for true wine connoisseurs.
The villa can host 13 guests with a combination of king size and single beds. This will be a great opportunity to relish some fabulous wine under the tuscan sun and mingle with other Columbia Alumni and guests!

Location:
Capo d’Uomo is located on the Western side of the Monte Argentario, fifteen minutes from Porto Santo Stefano, and in the next bay to Cala Piccola. The local provincial city of Grosseto is served by the Rome-Pisa ItaliaRail, while the Argentario is served by the Orbetello-Monte Argentario station (in the summer this is served by high-speed trains too).
The closest airports are:
- Rome Fiumicino/Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO) 1h 53min
- Rome Ciampino Airport (CIA) 2h 2min
- Pisa International Airport (PSA) 2h 20m
Santo Stefano is linked by bus to Orbetello, however the estate would highly recommend hiring a rental car (please see Map). The estate may be able to help arrange airport and station pick-ups with prior notice (see below for more information on Ground Transport.
Travel:
As mentioned above, the fee is all inclusive of room and food whilst at the estate. Travel to and from Italy and the estate are additional. To help you plan, we’ve done some quick research and wanted to share the following.
Air Travel:
Looking at various flight options, most all major carriers fly from the large selection of London airports to Rome and/or Pisa. However, the best rates and times appear to fly only to Pisa (Rome Fiumicino is, on average, £90-100 more).
As Pisa is only about 25 minutes further than Rome, it may be advisable to select that as the common airport.
Ground Transport:
TBD depending on final airports. The estate may be able to help with arrangement or if we reach critical mass we can arrange to rent a car together.
Refund Policy:
The £280 (or more depending on what size room) is due in full by September 14th via bank transfer to CUCL (click through below). Again this is on a first come, first serve basis so if you want to secure your spot please book. You can have a full refund up to 30 days before the trip (August 29, 2018) after which no refund is possible.
Hope to see you wine lovers in Tuscany for a gorgeous weekend!
