How do climate models work? How do researchers get records from ice sheets? How do climate scientists keep sane when many politicians blatantly ignore the facts? Is there anything we can do the avert the climate crisis?
CUCL is honoured to have Professor Richard Seager, of Palisades Geophysical Institute and Columbia's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at our disposal for the evening to answer all of these questions and anything else you might wonder. Learn from a climate scientist working in the trenches first-hand about paleoclimate and modeling work, and how the changing hydrological cycle influences water resources, agriculture, ecosystems and human systems (including political instability and conflict).
The intimate dinner will be held at Columbia Alum Judy Joo's Korean street food restaurant, Jinjuu, in Soho. Entry price includes a set meal.
