Upcoming August and September Events 2025

We’re not ready for summer to end, so let’s make the most of the nice weather and the sun still setting after 7pm 🌇 To close out August, we’re proud to host the first international She Opened the Door event this Sunday with an afternoon tea 🫖 ☕️ at The Wolseley City.

Next, we’ll head to Southbank for happy hour 🍺 🍸 🍷 at Queen Elizabeth Hall. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can enjoy the rooftop garden’s incredible views. Finally, we’ll wrap up the month with a private evening at the London Transport Museum 🚇 🚂 in Covent Garden, together with fellow Ivy and MIT alumni.

Details for all events are below.🔻🔻🔻

Did you know that Columbia Lions 🦁 have also been lighting up the silver screen 🎬. Two of this summer’s biggest blockbusters are helmed by alumni. Can you guess which ones? Scroll down to find out.  🍿 🎥

And lastly, we need your input. Please take a few minutes to complete our annual survey. To thank you for your time, you’ll be entered into a raffle for tickets to the Frieze Art Fair 👩🏻‍🎨 🎨 🖼️ (15–19 October 2025 at The Regent’s Park).

Columbia & the Movies 🍿  🎥  🎬

This summer, Columbia University has been taking center stage at the cinema. Two of the season’s biggest films are directed by Columbia alumni: Joseph Kosinski (GSAPP ’99) revs up box office excitement with the adrenaline-fueled F1, and James Gunn (SoA MFA ’95) redefines the superhero experience as the creative force behind Superman. Don’t miss your chance to see them on the big screen while they’re still playing, or stream at home.
