Stephen Elms (he/him) is currently working toward his PhD in Culture, Communication, and Media at University College London (UCL). His area of research investigates workforce training in the burgeoning field of Construction 4.0 (the digitalization of the construction industry alongside the industrialization of construction processes) and the new enhanced skills required for the next generation of tradespeople. 

Before moving to London in 2015, Stephen worked as an independent creative consultant in brand strategy, management, and design with an emphasis on performing arts and entertainment organizations. Stephen has also worked for Blue Man Group, Disney Theatrical Productions and Serino/Coyne. He has managed client accounts that included Tony Award®-winning productions and institutions such as Lincoln Center Theater and The Metropolitan Opera.

Stephen holds an MFA in producing and theatre management from Columbia University’s School of the Arts (2008) and a BFA in lighting design from the School of Design and Production at University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
