Speaker bios:

Maggie Loo is the Business Development Director at Bridges Ventures. Bridges is a leading fund manager that specialises in sustainable and impact investment. Maggie joined Bridges in 2007, having spent the first five years on the investment team and is now focused on business development and investor relations across Bridges’ platform which consists of three private fund types: Sustainable Growth, Property and Social Sector funds. Prior to joining Bridges, she worked at Climate Change Capital and McKinsey & Company. She studied environmental science and public policy at Harvard University and has an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Pyarali Jamal is the Chief Operating Officer of London Re-use Limited ("LRL") where he is responsible for the overall strategic planning, finance and accounting, and operational improvement initiatives. Pyarali has over twenty years of international experience in banking and financing, strategic planning and expansion, and operational improvement and change management issues.  

Pyarali worked for ten years with EY in their Transaction Advisory Services group in the Canadian and UK firms, and at the EY Global offices in London. Prior to joining LRL, Pyarali was an independent consultant primarily providing strategic and financial advisory services to social enterprises and charities. Some of Pyarali’s recent consulting assignments include: development of the Retail Charity Bond platform; due diligence on private placement and publicly listed financing transactions; operational reviews; and strategic planning assignments in the UK and overseas.  

In addition to sitting on the LRL board, Pyarali sits on the boards of the Big Issue Invest and The Social Enterprise Loan Fund (as Chair). He has lived in Vancouver, New York, Dubai, and East Africa, and has British and Canadian citizenship. His academic credentials include degrees from Columbia University, the University of Western Ontario, and the University of British Columbia, along with a certificate in Monitoring & Evaluation.

Daniel Perdomo-Rodríguez is Business Development Manager for Latin America at the Carbon Trust. Daniel is an industrial engineer from Colombia, and has over 10 years of international experience working in sustainable energy and finance with public and private institutions such as the Inter-American Development Bank in Chile, United Nations in New York, and the Central Bank and the Insurance Deposit of Colombia. In the private sector Daniel worked at KPMG, a multinational auditing and consulting firm. Joining the Carbon Trust in 2014, he has worked in projects in Colombia, Chile and Panamá. He holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Columbia University in New York and an Executive MBA from CASS Business School in London.
