Afternoon Classical Recital

Taking you on a historical journey of music, classical musicians Yvonne Wang (violin) and Jane Lu (piano) will perform iconic pieces starting from Baroque, leading to the Romantics and ending with modern tango.

Yvonne Yiwen Wang (Violinist)

Yvonne started playing the piano at age four and subsequently commenced with violin at age 10. She received both her Bachelor and Master degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Professor Diana Cummings and Nicholas Miller.

She performs regularly in major halls in the UK and China as a concert violinist and a chamber musician with a wide ranging repertoire. Her latest concert and recital venues include, Westminster Central Hall, St John’s Waterloo, Goodenough College, The Great Hall of People in Beijing, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Shenzhen Concert Hall, Nanjing Poly Theater, Hangzhou Grand Theatre, etc.

She has also performed with distinguished conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Sir Mark Elder, Yan Pascal Tortelier and Christian Thielemann. Furthermore, she has given many chamber music concerts in London and her own solo recitals in Asia. Amongst others, she gave a solo recital in Duke’s Hall and David Joseph Recital Hall. On a related note, she also won the third prize at the Brighton Springboard Violin Concerto Competition. She debuted with a Brahms sonata in the Sheung Wan Civic Centre Theatre in Hong Kong in 2011.

Other than performing, she is also a composer and gave her composition debut for violin, flute and piano No. 1 at the Royal Academy of Music. Yvonne has also founded B.Y Talents, unique London based artist and project management.

Jane Lu (Pianist)

Jane Lu is a Chinese Classical pianist. She had earned her master degree and teaching licentiate from the Royal Academy of Music in London. She won numerous competitions both nationally and internationally including the George Enescu International Classical Music Competition in Romania and the National Young Pianist Competition in China. She is currently actively performing and teaching piano all over China and Europe. In recent years, Jane has performed frequently both solo works and chamber music in London NPL Musical Society, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Suzhou Concert Hall & Tulcea City Concert Hall. She is currently the Head Teacher of London Star Music School in Fulham.
